The luminescent coating is made by color luminous powder, organic solvent and auxiliary agent according to a certain proportion through special processing technology.


Resin and varnish: The selected resin should have good light transmission, and the luminescent paint is translucent after film formation, and the color of the resin has an influence on its luminescence brightness. The principle of the selected resin and varnish is colorless and the transparency is good.


The colored luminous powder is a weakly alkaline substance, and the resin is selected to be neutral or weakly alkaline.


The color luminous powder content is generally controlled within the range of 15% - 50%, and 30% is an ideal ratio.






Selection of additives: The additives used in luminescent paints mainly include dispersants and anti-settling agents. The dispersing agent is a methyl silicone oil xylene solution having a concentration of 1%, and the anti-settling agent is fumed silica.






Luminous coating manufacturing process


The manufacturing process technology of the luminescent coating directly affects its luminescent properties and application characteristics, so the process conditions must be strictly controlled, and the following problems should be noted.


Glass or enamel containers should be used to configure the coating. The particle size of the luminous powder is as small as possible so that the powder can be evenly distributed in the coating. When the paint is configured, it cannot be ground. The method of high-speed stirring should be used. The proportion of luminous powder is about 3.6. It is easy to sink when the coating is applied. By using anti-settling agent, the storage period of the luminescent coating can be improved. Heavy metal compounds cannot be used as auxiliaries.

The luminescent paint can be applied by a process such as brushing, spraying, and knife coating. The coated article should be coated with a white reflective layer before spraying the luminescent coating to increase its luminous brightness. A varnish can be applied to the luminescent coating to improve the gloss and abrasion resistance of the coating.


The thickness of the paint coating is controlled at 100-150 microns, which is the best and most economical. Adjust the viscosity before using the luminescent coating and mix well. Recommended formula ratio:


Varnish 80%----50%


Luminous powder 20%-----50%


Dispersant 0.3%


Anti-settling agent 2%
