(1) Unsuitable for screen printing Since the pigment used in pearlescent ink is a sheet-like anatase or rutile titanium dioxide coated mica flakes, the pearlescent pigments need to be arranged in order to achieve a satisfactory pearlescent effect. The screen printing is not conducive to the orderly arrangement of the pigments. Therefore, the pearlescent ink is more suitable for the printing of solid color blocks.
(2) Drying speed The printing ink layer of the pearlescent ink is relatively thick, and the drying speed of the ink is slower than that of the ordinary offset printing ink. At this time, it is not possible to adjust by adding a desiccant, but it is necessary to control the temperature and humidity of the paper and the printing environment. The ambient temperature should be controlled at 25 ± 2 ° C, and the relative humidity is controlled at around 55%.
(3) Printed sticky pearlescent ink printing is particularly prone to print stickiness. This is because offset pearlescent ink has low viscosity, large fluidity, large pearlescent pigment particles, and is mostly used for printing on the ground. It is generally 2 to 3 times that of ordinary offset printing ink. The printing ink layer is relatively thick and is prone to sticking. Therefore, it is necessary to properly spray the powder and control the appropriate stack height.
